Service, atmosphere and food were excellent, especially the cream corn! The chicken and dressing was a bit on the dry side. Everyone was very friendly and everything was clean. There was plenty of seating and parking as well

First time walking in here and had such a pleasant, fun and welcoming experience. It's giving home away from home. Truly feels like a family owned restaurant! My friends and I were on the road to Winchester, Tennessee and discovered this restaurant along our route. Although we the only colored people in the restaurant, they went around their way to help us feel welcomed and included. It is a cafeteria style restaurant with homemade specialties to blow your mind's taste buds. Had their Habanero Sticky Chicken and it was bomb! Just the right amount of spice and their chicken comes boneless and dipped in their delicious homemade Habanero Sauce. Make sure to get your free dessert by joining their text messaging group through a QR code provided on the table. I left with a whole coconut pie to take home for the group. At the end of our lunch, we enjoyed looking through their fun little trinkets they had for sale which were perfect for Bonnaroo!

Also the cakes and pastries in this place are so enticing I could just take one of all and thats not an exaggeration.

My women’s motorcycle group stopped into The Merchantile Cafe for lunch and absolutely loved it. I had reached out to Renee ahead of time to reserve space for our crew. Our numbers dropped due to the rainy weather, but they were so accommodating. I had a small portion of the chicken and waffles plus the fruit tea - delicious! Some others had the meat & 3 selection of the day which was met with rave reviews. The real star of the show was dessert. Banana Pudding was to die for and the carrot cake (not pictured) was criminally good. Highly recommend stopping by The Merchantile Cafe if you’re in the area. I’ll definitely be back soon to try some cookies & ice cream!

Such a cute shop/diner. Come hungry! Coffee was good too! We shared the jalapeno pimento cheese, bacon, and fried green tomato bagel with fries. It was delightful!
